 From Ariane Macdonald:

DALEWOOD WOMEN’S SECTION

WELCOME BACK, AGAIN!

The course is open, the tee sheet is filled, and the weather is perfect! It was great to see so many of the Women’s Section out and playing during the Long Weekend.

Lynn Attley has sent an email regarding the Tuesday League. The sign-up routine will be as it was last year. Open the attachment, add your name and preferred time to play and close the browser. Your information will automatically be added. The Tuesday sign-up email will go out on Monday and the deadline for sign up will be Friday at noon. Any changes after Friday need to be made through the pro-shop, not through Lynn. After Sunday, any openings will be made available to women, non-members wishing to play with us. Please let Lynn know if you are not receiving her emails (lynn.attley@gmail.com).

Those who have signed up for Match Play should have received an email from Dale Hodge. Please ensure you adhere to the dates and match play rules. The blog has everything you need to know about Match Play and its etiquette. Dale has put copies of the Match Play on the bathroom bulletin board. The matches are also posted on the blog and will be kept up-to-date.

Sandy Young has emailed us regarding Saturday Skins. Cut off time is Wednesday at 3 pm. Please let Sandy know if you are interested in playing Skins and not receiving her emails (Sandy.young@hki.com).

Please find attached an updated calendar just in case you have misplaced the first one!

When playing on Tuesdays, and to help speed of play, please do the following:

  • If you go into the creek twice in a row, pick up your ball and continue on the other side. Most likely you will have reached your max before you get to the green.

  • If you have reached your max, please pick-up. Max is 2 over par plus strokes you get for that hole, based on your handicap. (Also known as Net Double Bogey).

  • If you hit your drive about 100 – 125 yards, it is recommended that you play from the orange tees. Dalewood is a long course, you don’t have to make it harder for yourself.

We will continue to celebrate key milestones. Details will be forthcoming in the blog. Please email your achievement to Anne Parks (anneparks48@gmail.com) with a photo if appropriate. The blog will be used as the celebratory vehicle.

Also, please remember to follow all the covid-19 protocols. We are all hoping that Ontario can proceed to the 3 phase reopening plan announced recently.

Have fun golfing!
