Locker Room message

From our President Patty:

The locker room renovation is almost completed but we need a little more time to put everything back in place. There are piles of stuff on the floor that need to be organized and it will take at least another 2 weeks to make the area safe.  Please wait a little longer before you try to access your locker. When I will return next week, we will begin the job of replacing all our accessories. In the meantime, if you are over there and see the guys at work, give them a  big "Thank- you". They have done a great job!

Friends in New Smyrna Beach

We enjoyed some great company at Venetian Bay Golf Club and afterwards, in north east Florida with Laura and John Ebbrell - a little cool last Wednesday, but lots of sun and fun. Thanks for hosting us!

The next morning, Laura said she hadn't seen the sun THAT early in a long time - beautiful beach!

Golf in Arizona

Diane Arsenault sent this picture from the golf course in the Village of Oak Creek, just outside Sedona, Arizona. She said the weather went from a mini snow storm on a hike in the first week, to a second week of 15C temps, and then to a heat wave of 80 - 90F this week. They had the pleasure of playing with a young star from the women's golf team at Northern Arizona University who hit 250-300 yards drives and was "lethal around the greens". Her name is Sofia Anokhina and she had just won a NCAA tournament the previous weekend shooting -12 for three rounds! That may be a name to remember in the future. Keep the pictures coming!

Celebrating St Paddy's Day

Thanks to Martha Killoran for sending this picture of her celebrating the Highlands Ridge St. Patrick's tournament, dinner, and dance. Martha's extra celebration is that she giving up her position of President there after 4 years.

Senior Games Curling

Although this is late news, two of our golfers had success at the Ontario Senior Games, held in Cobourg late last month. In mixed curling, the team of Paul Desormeaux, Sue Morrow, Rene Germain, and Donna Todd won the Bronze Medal. Congratulations!

Locker room update

It's getting close to being finished. You'll have to come out and see the finished product in person. What a transformation!

Caribbean Vacation

Thank goodness work on the locker room was on hold waiting for tiling to be done, so Barb and Neil could enjoy their holiday in Saint Martin. They were relaxing here in front of David's Hole during their tour of the island. Thanks for sending.

Golf in New Zealand

Joan and Derek Hayward played this course in Christchurch, NZ, established in 1904. Interesting pricing - for 12 holes, instead of 9 as we would usually see. Joan mentioned dry conditions, similar to our drought last summer. Thanks for sending!
