The following changes were proposed at the Closing Field Day by our executive:
Proposed Changes for the 2027 Golf Season:
As our membership has diminished, it is time to simplify.
MINUTES: Notes at Opening and Closing meetings will be recorded by the VP/Social convenor. They will be published on the blog and in the locker room. We will dispense with the formal reading and motion to accept.
PAY AS YOU PLAY: All events will now be self-funded. Dalewood GC will pay for trophy engraving. Therefore, there is no longer a need for a Treasurer. Convenors of each event will contact the Dalewood Administrator to charge participants. Prize monies will be allocated according to the amount collected, adhering to Games policies, and send results to the Games Captain and the Blog.
EXECUTIVE members will be President, VP/Social/Secretary (one person), Games/HDCP (one person), Intern.
RINGERS: Ringers will be recognized for all 3 tees. Net prizes for the 18-hole ringers only shall be awarded (1st and 2nd place). A minimum of 2 per tee group. The recording Birdies and Chip-ins will be eliminated.
RETIRING TROPHIES: Diamond, Double Diamond and Low Net for Club Championship, and the Nan Sharpe Play Happy trophies will be retired. The Mary Buckley Trophy reverts to a Tuesday event.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP:
Championship Flight - played from the red tees
Club Champion
Senior Champion (50+)
A Flight Champion
Stableford Flights
For those not playing in the Championship Flight there will be 2 or 3 additional flights based on the number of women participating.
Participants will play the Stableford format.
The flights will be determined based on HDCP from the tee of their choice just like the Eclectic. (i.e. there may be 8 players in the same flight with HDCPs between 20-29 some playing red, some playing red/green and some playing green.)
NEW for 2027:
Score cards with stroke holes for all tees will be available.
Women’s Member Guest Committee: Lynn, Barb, Leanne and Dianne. The tournament will be in June.
