You never know who you'll run into

Last Wednesday at La Cita GC in Titusville who should be in the group behind but Canadian LPGA winner, Lorie Kane playing with her friend CPGA pro Linda Shephard from Barcovan GC. Locker room

Here are a few more pictures showing some of the work being done on our locker room, including clean, inviting showers, a new layout, and a towel cabinet.

The Women's Section wants to thank Susan Meldrum for her time and talents for getting colours coordinated to perfection. Barb Pemberton, who sent the pictures noted that the colours do not show up accurately on the phone camera with the lighting in the room. 

The new towel cabinet pictured below was built by John Ebbrell and donated to us by the Ebbrells. It will be placed across from the showers in the new layout in the locker room. 

I'm sure you'll agree, we can't wait to see the finished product.

Locker room reno

Our locker room is being worked on as you read this blog. Thanks to Barb Pemberton for the pictures so we can see what has been done so far - the carpet and flooring are gone, the "barn board" on the far wall was stripped off, and some paint applied! Stay tuned for more updates.

Happy New Year

Good morning everyone! I hope you had wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations with family and friends.

Below is a picture of a Big Horn sheep, that Janet Hull took next to the mountain on the 12th hole of their Cove Course at Indian Wells. Thanks for sending Janet. If anyone has golf/vacation pictures you would like to share on the blog, please send them my way.

Locker Clean Out

Management has asked the women to clean out our lockers in the event that the lockers may be spray painted during some renovation work. There is no guarantee that the belongings inside will not be damaged. Please do this as soon as possible as the work may begin anytime.

An uncommon sight at Dalewood

We have seen a heron or two, some turkeys occasionally, lots of geese in the spring and a few ducks, but I am not sure this particular kind of bird has visited us before:

Christmas Buffet - Dec 9

Dalewood GC and Chef Jen are presenting the annual Friday Christmas Buffets. After talking to several women, we have decided to get together on Friday, Dec 9 at 12 noon for our Christmas Luncheon.

Two trick shots

On this miserable fall day, you need to watch these two guys hit unbelievable trick shots with their drivers. It will make your day!  If I tried this, my driver would probably be upside down and backwards!!

Creed of the Amateur

The photo of this plaque was sent from Pinehurst by Janet Hull for us to appreciate:

Richard S. Tufts (1896-1980) was the grandson of James W Tufts, the founder of Pinehurst. He served as President of the USGA, Walker Cup Captain, and was a staunch believer in amateurism. As a protege of Donald Ross, he built 40 new holes at Pinehurst and revised many more. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame posthumously in 1992.

Some incredible colours were on full display near #14 tee and fairway, on Tuesday.
