Dalewood Women’s Section Spring Meeting Minutes
Saturday May 3, 2025
1. Sue Morrow opened the meeting and welcomed everyone to our 2025 golf season.
Sign up sheets are available for Match Play and Opening Field Day.
Kevin Gunter, Director of Golf and Operations introduced his team: Brad Pemberton Head Professional, Chef Greg and Pam Trumper, Events Co ordinator.
Sandi Macdonald welcomed new member Kim Wadsworth.
2. Minutes of the 2024 Fall Meeting
A motion was made by Patty MacDonald and seconded by Patti Hunt to accept the minutes from the Fall 2024 meeting. The motion was carried.
3. Treasurer’s Report – Cathy Morin
The membership fee is $30 for the 2025 golf season.
The carry over from 2024 is $195.
4. Games Captain – Sandy Young
The Calendar of Events is posted on the Blog.
OFD will be played from Red/Green tees.
Saturday Skins will be played again this year. There will be 6 tee times starting on May 17th. There were discussions about a double cross over 11 to 1:30.
Tee sheet committee. Unit Holders can book 2 weeks in advance. Members need to add their names to the tee sheet at least 7 days before their scheduled tee time. If not the member will be cancelled and the tee time will be open to the public.
5. Handicap, Match Play - Sandi MacDonald
Handicap: Scores can be posted April 15th to October 31st.
It is required that your score be posted within 24 hours of playing.
Sandi reminded the group to post your score from the correct tees. You can select the default tees. If posting "hole by hole" from Red/Green or Green be sure to use your adjusted score.
Match Play: This year players have the option to choose their tees blocks.
A reminder to start Match Play as soon as possible to meet the deadlines. An extension of no more than 7 days can be granted in certain situations. Please contact Sandi to discuss.
Achievement board is now open.
6. Social Convenor - Bridget Smith
There will be rotating Tuesday specials.
There is a demand for quick serve food on Saturday such as yoghurt parfaits and breakfast sandwiches.
Gluten Free beer will be available.
There will be ready made sandwiches available at the Bar, Pro Shop and on the course cart.
There are new wine glasses and 6 and 9 ounce servings will be available.
Bridget will confirm whether the tip is included in the pricing for our Tuesday league meals.
7. Tuesday Golf Convenor - Lynn Attley
Email for sign up will be sent out on Sunday. The deadline is Thursday at noon and the tee times will be posted late Friday. Contact the Pro Shop if you miss the sign up deadline or you need to cancel your tee time.
Threesomes will have the first tee times.
Let Lynn know if you want to book a Match game on Tuesday.
The book exchange will continue this year. Books will be donated to the hospital at the end of the year.
8. Devil’s Tournament and DWS Blog – Jeanne Beaith
If you would like to be notified when there is a new post send an email to dalewoodws@gmail.com and put subscribe in the subject line.
The Devil’s tournament will be held on August 19th.
9. Interclub League and Peterborough City and District - Tracey Bodashefsky
We will participate with Ashbrook and Warkworth. The format is 2 person better ball, net score. There will be a sign up sheet for the games.
City and District competition is played over 2 days on a weekend. There will be 6 participants from Dalewood. Sign up will be early July.
Other business
A bench will be purchased in memory of Janet Hull. Donations of cash or by e-transfer can be made to Yvonne, Ariane, or Patty.
Lynn Attley will provide a Google Docs training session for those interested.
On course water locations have been changed. Sue will discuss with Kevin and highlight the need to have on course water at the 11th tee.
