Sad news

   Diane Moffat 

  1956 - 2021

With sadness, the family of Diane would like you to know she left our world Thursday April 22 about 10:30 pm, with her siblings at her side.

As per DeeDee’s wishes, there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held, when possible, at Dalewood.

Let’s think of her enjoying the land of eternal sunny golf days and raise a shot in her honour as we say our own goodbyes to her. 🥃

Where do you live? I moved to Cobourg in Oct 2020, having lived in Vaughan for the past 20 years.

Where were you born? Lakefield

How long have you played golf? 20 years, but more regularly for the last 8 years.

Previous clubs you have belonged to? I played a variety of courses in the GTA.

Favourite hole at Dalewood? Looking to find my favourite hole. Current favourite is any hole where I don't end up in a bunker.

Favourite club? Seven wood.

Goal this year? Meeting people, participate in league play, and work on my game.

Favourite post round drink? Wine or beer.

Other sports, hobbies, and interests? Travel, hiking, kayaking, cycling, curling.

Married, kids? Single.

Dear Dalewood Ladies

Organized Tuesday Golf will begin on May 4th and will once again be done online using Google Docs.  

To get started I need to know who wishes to receive the weekly signup email. 

Our Match Play convenor would also like to know who would like to participate and receive her emails.

A response by Wednesday April 21st would be greatly appreciated.

If no response is received it will be assumed that you do not wish to participate.

Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the course and let’s hope that Tuesdays bring us nothing but sunny skies and pleasant temperatures.

The family of Diane Moffat have given us the very sad news that Diane will not be returning to Dalewood as she has been diagnosed with Cancer and is currently receiving palliative care.

 

We are all heartbroken by this news.

 

It has, however, provided us with an opportunity to express our support and love for Diane in a very concrete way: letting her know how much we have valued and enjoyed our times together at Dalewood and that she will always be a part of this community.

 

A bench dedicated to Diane is being purchased to be placed by the Red Tee box 

on the 17^th hole.

 

If you would like to participate in the purchase of this bench you can leave a donation in the 

Pro Shop or you can e-transfer your donation to lynn.attley@gmail.com. 

 

Please make sure you leave your name with your donation if giving it to the pro-shop.  

When we tell Diane we want her know the names of all those who have contributed so she can feel the love…like a hug from each and every one of you.

What could be better than the Masters Tournament and the opening of the golf season at Dalewood on the same weekend? 

..... Well, a couple of things - thankfully, golf was not included in the provincial shutdown! Yahoo!

And you don't even need to keep score for a week since Ontario's "Active Season" runs from April 15 to October 31. You may keep score if you want, but it can't be entered for handicap purposes.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND PLAYING AND WATCHING GOLF!!
