Our Junior Girls' Champion Anna Crowley qualified earlier this month to play in the Golf Ontario Bantam (under 15) Championship being held this coming week at Trafalgar GC in Milton on Tuesday and Wednesday. Only 30 girls were allowed to qualify - so kudos for even getting there. Wish Anna luck if you see her at the club on the weekend.  If you want to follow her scores go to:

Also of note is her brother Ryan, one of our workers in the backshop, who was tied for low qualifier when the Junior Boys' Match Play Qualifier was held at Dalewood on that rainy Monday two weeks ago. All the players were only able to finish the front 9 and Ryan shot an impressive 34 (-2). He will play in the GO Junior Boy's Match Play at Port Hope GC later in August.

The odds of a hole-in-one are 12,500 to 1. What are the odds of two holes-in-one with the same ball by two different people?

Here's one for the record books: "Miracle ball nets 2 holes-in-one for separate golfers on same day".

A 13 year old using his school's logo Titleist #4 had a hole-in-one on Minneapolis Golf Club's #4. He didn't think to put it away for a souvenir. He lost the ball 3 holes later. 

Another golfer found it, put it in his bag, lost his own ball a few holes later so pulled out the ball with the school logo. He then had a hole in one on #16 with that ball. No one knew the significance until both groups were celebrating their holes-in-one later in the clubhouse.

The ball was returned to the teen and the club will be displaying a look-a-like ball to honour the story.

Sat, July 23 and Sun, July 24 

The cost is $50 which includes dinner on Sunday and prizing.

All women members are eligible and welcome to play - you will be paired with similar handicap players on Saturday, and then by score on Sunday.

The following champions are awarded:

Overall, Senior (50+), Diamond (60+), Double Diamond (70+)

We also award winners in three flights based on handicap.

You can sign up on the Dalewood website, in the pro shop, 

or on the board opposite the locker room.
