The Mary Buckley Eclectic winner was Betty Bright with a net of 56 - congratulations, Betty! She nudged out Gail Richards by 1 shot - well done, Gail, on runner up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next Tuesday is the Bulger Alternate Shot (Two Ball) Trophy. Get a partner or sign up as a single.  Each player drives from the tee and on her second shot, hits her partner’s ball. Before the third shot, the team chooses the ball to continue with.  Whoever owns the chosen ball hits the 3rd shot and then the players alternate shots until the ball is holed out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No, we haven't changed the dress code for Tuesday evenings. This was Dale Hodge with her winnings from the draw held once a month, donated by our beer companies. She won a Coors Light shirt, a Michelob Ultra hat, a Keith's Beer glass, a certificate for a Sapporo 6-pack, and Titleist golf balls.

The annual Washashores vs Canada tournament will be Monday, July 17. It is a fun event put on by our Senior Men's section. You will be paired with a man to play against a similar handicap pair in a match using better ball, alternate shot, and scramble. The cost is $20, which includes lunch. Several have already signed up, but more are welcome. Sign up is on the bulletin board

Club Championship weekend is July 21, 22, 23. On Saturday and Sunday we play for the Overall, Senior, Diamond, and Double Diamond Championships, in addition to recognizing Flight Winners. As well, there is a Low Net winner declared. On Saturday you will be paired with like handicaps and on Sunday by similar scores. There is a dinner on Sunday following golf for everyone. The cost is $40, which includes the Friday night Skills Contest, dinner, and prizes on Sunday. A sign up sheet is posted on the board.

The pro shop staff go to a lot of trouble setting up the Skills Contest on Friday night and it has been poorly attended the last few years. Come on out and enjoy the games and camaraderie. If you only want to do the Skills Contest and not play in the CC, the cost is $5.

Our Third Annual Solheim Cup, Saturday September 16, 2017

You will see on our bulletin board, a sign up sheet for the Solheim Cup. You may be thinking: Summer just arrived . . I do not want to be thinking about September! Agreed! There is a reason. The idea last year was to set up somewhat permanent teams, which will carry over year to year. This will build team spirit, as well as eliminating boundary changes every year.

Once you sign up, teams will be drafted by two captains using handicaps to create two balanced teams. (Sign up this year, even if you already know you can't play this September, but may be able to play in future years.)

You will know your team by sign up time this year and in future years. It goes without saying, the teams will have changes; however, now there will be two permanent teams - names, colours to be determined by you this year.

Please note: We will have a pre-game, strategy, "head games" breakfast before we play this year! And post ceremony, a locker room fund raising scratch and win lottery golf game!

Happy Canada Day from our skins group!!

Bridges under Bridges Over Troubled Waters
Less than 2 weeks after the Greens' staff got the walking bridges in, we had our 2nd major flood of the season. Two were washed downstream, and remarkably they were back in place only a few days later! Picture (and title) courtesy of Joan Hayward.
